Once every four years...

This is the only day that I regret not becomming an American citizen. You have no idea just how lucky you are to give your voice a vote today. Don't take this for granted.

So, I want to know...What are you telling your kids about the election today? Are you telling them who you are voting for and why you choose that candidate? Are you involving them in learning about the electoral process?

p.s.-vote for mccain

You're not a citizen? No way!!
I don't think I'm voting. I don't know who to vote for. I don't follow politics. I haven't talked to Destiney about any of it really. She doesn't care I don't think.

Well, you have four years until the next election why don't you take the steps to become a citizen? I talked a little bit about the election to Kaitlyn and then I told my two older ones where I was stopping when I went out for my run this morning. I guess I don't get that if you know your stomach will be in knots every election, you can't pull yourself away from the tv, and you are living in a country where you are enjoying such freedom why you don't choose to go through the process?

The great thing about this country is that the only thing that I can't do is vote. Well...and run for president. HA!

There really isn't a great reason why I haven't become an American. Mostly because I think it will require money and time that I probably don't have.

And I have toyed around with the idea. But again...there isn't alot I can't do.

I wonder if my brother will become an American? I highly doubt my mom will.

I wished I would've taken the time to do more teaching about the election! It would've made for some great homeschooling lessons. Quite honestly though, since we don't have cable TV, we don't get the paper & we don't listen to news radio, I probably wouldn't even had remembered that today were Election Day were it not on so many people's blogs.

I actually ran into your brother yesterday, we were both doing our court ordered community service, and as a sidebar you should notice that Route 120 is now devoid of roadside trash. Anyway I doubt your brother becomes an American. He's still holding out hope that he's got a chance to qualify on the Canadian team for the games of the 22nd Winter Olympiad in Sochi Russia in 2014. His plan is to convince fellow Canuck Dave Foley to be his partner on the two man luge team. All Canadians love sledding. Oh also as another sidebar, your brother can be a real Richard. He needs to work on that.

So wow, you learn something new (about people) everyday! I didn't know I had another Canadian cyber-friend. Cool!
