BLAHHHHHH....more snow and GD tests!

Well...I am frustrated about the latest snow advisory which I saw issued this morning. I HATE SNOW! And not because it is almost March and it is still around. I hate it the moment I see it in the winter. I hate the feeling of cold and wet. But then again...there probably aren't too many out there who do like it...right? Well now that I ranted about that...on to my next subject...procrastination!

I still haven't taken my 1 hour Gestational Diabetes test. I also HATE GD tests. It really isn't in the waiting the hour after forcing myself to keep down orange syrup. It has more to do with trying to get my blood for the reason of telling me that I probably have GD again. As I am sure you can imagine...I am a glass half empty kind of gal. I don't even know if I have it but the thought that I might is quite frustrating. So...I am living in denial now! I will go...I might go...well...maybe. I will see how I feel about it on Monday. I was supposed to have it done at 28 weeks. I am now 30 and only have two more weeks until I see the dr. again. I know that I have to have it done by then so hopefully I will.

I understand totally about the snow! Not my thing ethier, but it has helped in keeping the bills paid around here, so I can't complain to much!
Is there any way you could just take the 3 hour one instead? I remember always failing the 1 hour and thinking after Selah why didn't I just ask after the first two pregnancies if I could go straight to the 3 hour one!! Just a thought. I will be praying for you!!!

I've only had 2 pregnancies, but I've passed the 1 hour tests both times. Is it really common for people to fail them? I guess I am just out of the loop on this one. Good idea to just ask for the 3-hour one though. I am totally in the boat with you on the procrastination thing. Sometimes my motto is, "Why do today what you can put off til tomorrow?" LOL!

Well...I did it yesterday morning. Tortured myself through the one hour and didn't feel tired at all which is an encouraging thought. Perhaps I passed it! So...I will find out in a few days and update everyone.

I have had 4 pregnancies and failed my one hour each time. I passed my three hour with the twins, and kyla and didn't even take the three hour with kierstin because my numbers were so high. I was automatically put on insulin after having high numbers after controling my diet as well.

With that said some people have a harder time passing any diabetes test. We have a strong family history of type 2 diabetes and the extra weight that I was carrying wasn't helping. This time I lost 62 pounds prior to getting pregnant so I am hoping that it makes a difference. With any luck I will still be 50 pounds lighter than my pregnancy weight with Kierstin when I walk out of the hospital after having Kendell. That would be great!

I hate the three hour one more than the one hour test b/c it is the needle part that sucks for me. They have a terrible time finding my deep and wiggly veins and end up bruising me pretty badly. So...if I can avoid the four blood tests involved with the three hour...I will. KWIM?
